The RCHORA race series is the idea of John G and his friends back in the 70’s. This series has the history as well as the stats. Today the RCHORA Racing Series races once a month from January through April, then again from September to December. Generally the season is about 8 races. The Daytona 500 starts off the year and the Okto-HO-berfest is where it all ends. The racing is the same as it started off back in the 70’s. In it’s 40th season RCHORA is bring upon changes. With Drew Kreibich taking over the race formats have changed a bit, but the racing is still exciting. With corner works, driver are allowed to make some mistakes and yet have a chance to win the longer races. RCHORA is the perfect race environment for any slot car racer. |

ASA and Nas-T-Jet’s make their debut.
The ASA division was next to the track. This series could be renamed RHS (Rich Hohlfeld Series). Starting off on a tear, Rich won his first 3 heat segments and finishing 2nd in his 4th. Drew Kreibich was able to hang with Hohlfeld for the first three only to have body issues to knock him out in the 4th heat segment costing him any chance at the overall win. Tom Lange was the only one who had anything for Rich and when it was all said and done, he was still 6 laps down. Rich finished with 103 laps while Lange had 97 followed by Gilbertson (96), Oliver (94), and Schroeder (93). Kreibich’s body issues forced him to a 6th place spot with 90 laps followed by the 2009 Okto-HO-berfest champion Mark Swingle (86) and Bob Talley (73). It was now time for the final class, Nas-T-Jets. A new division to the 2010 RCHORA season everyone was eager to show off their new COTs. Raced in the same fashion as the ASA each driver had 5 60 second segments. Not surprisingly Greg Oliver was the first to win a segment with a total of 20 laps followed by Rich Hohlfeld and Paul Gilbertson. Heat 2 was Paul’s heat to win with Greg chasing him. Hohlfeld made his move in heats 3 and 4 winning each with 20 laps. Pat, Drew (2x) and Tom won the next 4 heat segments. This was the closest division of the day by far with Kreibich taking the overall victory with 92 laps. In the final heat segment, Oliver looked as if he was going to make his move, but ran into trouble slowing him down forcing him to finish with only 16 laps in segment 8. The top 4 were separated by only two laps: Kreibich (92), Schroeder (91), Lange (91), Oliver (90). Tom Lange and Pat Schroeder finished in a dead tie. RCHORA Officials were unable to tell which car finished in front of the other so the two flipped a coin. Pat called tails and tails is what the coin showed giving him the edge to Tom. Rich Hohlfeld (88) finished in 5 followed by Gilbertson (85), Swingle (82) and Bob Talley (71). Kreibich is the only one to win a Nas-T-Jet RCHORA race. In 2009 the club ran one Nas-T-Jet race with Kreibich winning that one too |
